Following the heavy rainfall at the weekend, the Horncastle Flood Alleviation scheme came into action and prevented the River Bain and Waring from overflowing.

Regarding Ings Drain. This is an Internal Drainage Board (IDB) asset. The IDB state that the pumps operated as expected. We understand that the relatively high intensity of rainfall caused the capacity of the pumps to be exceeded for a short period causing localised flooding of grassland.
