We have received the sad news of the passing of Bill Aron, former Mayor of Horncastle, on Sunday 31st August, surrounded by family.
Bill joined Horncastle Town Council following a by-election in November 1996.
He became Deputy Mayor in 2000, 2012 and 2015, and Mayor in 2001, 2007 and 2016, and was a Councillor for the intervening years.
Bill was a well-respected and dedicated councillor and he gave his time generously to the town and its’ people. He was instrumental in helping to save significant town buildings including the Stanhope Hall, War Memorial Hospital and the Old Courthouse.
Horncastle Town Council is deeply grateful for his many contributions and the positive impact that he made during his years of service.
